AN OPEN POST IN A REGIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL INVESTMENT COMPANY
POST TITLE: CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER (CIO)
I. Main Objectives:
Develop a new internationally focused investment strategy in healthcare as per the most attractive sub sectors.
Identify and pursue attractive exits for existing company investments.
Conduct economic and technical feasibility studies for new investment projects.
Contribute to the financing and promotion of regional healthcare industry in collaboration with other long-term and value-based investors.
II. Position Summary:
The CIO will serve as the key leader, responsible for managing critical investment decisions, monitoring existing investments, strategic initiatives, and overall business performance in the region. The CIO will spearhead operational excellence, lead cross-functional teams, and foster relationships with government bodies, industry partners, and key stakeholders. This executive will ensure that the company’s strategic goals are translated into actionable plans and that operational and financial targets are consistently achieved.
The CIO will play a critical role overall strategy and growth and diversification agenda and will pursue identification, valuation, due diligence, and negotiations for the acquisition of additional healthcare investment opportunities with the goal of expansion into key markets. The CIO will have the responsibility for leading in the planning, building, development, and implementation of a portfolio management function that supports the long-term objectives, mission and vision of company.
The CIO will lead Enterprise Strategy and Business Development (ESBD), partnering across the team to develop and manage enterprise strategic growth.

V. Qualifications & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in the investment field, with experience healthcare or related industries preferred, with a demonstrable track record in investment and portfolio management.
In-depth experience in healthcare and more specifically pharmaceutical investment projects preferred as well as experience with due diligence processes operational management, financial planning, strategic business development, and risk management is required.
Proven expertise in managing complex, matrixed organizations, ideally with prior exposure to multinational or regionally diverse teams.
trong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and experience is fund raising as well as investment exits.
Fluency in both spoken and written Arabic and English is required, given the regional context and communication needs
